People Places and Memories : Dami Cha
I almost waited for years and finally when I set my foot in the hills of North Bengal, I felt that Echo of Joy within me.
The route was to visit Tinchuley following by visit to Lepchajagat and finally via Mirik back to New Jalpaiguri Station. The Saddest part: Darjeeling was somewhere near but was missing in our road map destinations!
This post will cover the tales of Tinchuley and nearby visits
The Journey started reaching Siliguri Station and the memories started getting captured…
Enroute Tinchuley
After Hours of Journey through the curvy wavy roads and the peaceful scenery, We reached our 1st destination : A beautiful mountain village Tinchuley which is at an altitude of 5800 ft.
Tinchuley is a nepali term which means Three ovens as it is surrounded by three hill tops making it look like a oven from far.
The roads were open and wandering was the soul. Let’s explore Tinchuley :
Tinchuley Monastery
The sunrise was lost in fog so thought for a morning walk in the forest of Oak, Pines and Wilderness..
Excited to visit the places nearby we got fresh and moved forward to the places unknown:
Lamahata
The fun was the climbing the hills..
The World Famous Lopchu Pera Factory was next:
Down The way was the Teesta and Rangeet River Meeting Point View:
Finally ending the Day with visit to the orange valley:
A new day..many new thoughts, The Dusk was amazing.. watching the Red Sun Rising and Birds Crippling was healing the ears..
Keeping tons of Memories in heart, the bags started getting packed and Its time to say Goodbye to this heavenly Oven.
The best part was the Aligeti (Little bit) Nepali that I can speak! Interacting in Local language helped me being one among them!
Pheri Bhetaula (Hope to visit you again) Tinchuley.. 😊
